The Spectacle of DeathWhat is a photograph really? Is it the representation of reality or its manipulation? The debate on what lies behind an image, on what power it has and how it relates, is long in the history of photography. The photographic production, far from being a mere representation of reality, participates in a process of interpretation and construction of it, impressing it in a much more manipulable "memory" than we’d like to think. The project analyzes the reinterpretation of war archive photography and how manipulation, including caption manipulation, can provide the user with a completely different reading from the original.
